A groundbreaking ceremony will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, July 12th, for Donald Trump's extraordinary 64-story project, The "
Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas". This icon of opulence will be built on the Strip, adjacent to the Fashion Show Mall and across from the Wynn Las Vegas Resort and Golf Course.
"We're totally sold out," said the Donald. "If anyone drops out, I have 2,000 people to take their place."
Trump's ex-wife, Ivana, is also planning to make a splash in the
Las Vegas luxury high-rise market with her development, "
The Ivana" (formerly known as "
The Summit"), to be located at the north end of the Strip on the corner of South Sahara and Las Vegas Boulevard.
The Ivana, if built, will be the tallest residential condominium tower in Las Vegas at 80 stories tall.
In an apparent effort to out-trump Trump, the former Mrs. Trump has invited over a thousand brokers to meet and discuss sales plans at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino on the same day as Trump's groundbreaking ceremony, tomorrow.
Ah, well. The Donald's project is sold out with back-up buyers lining up in the wings and Ivana's project may (or may not) break ground next summer. Given the mach speed of the rise and fall of planned projects in the
Las Vegas condo market, anything can happen!
